Sazerac is continuing the rapid expansion of its portfolio and its push into European markets, with the US spirits group in talks to take over Germany's Berentzen-Gruppe AG. The negotiations come shortly after Sazerac completed its US$400 million (£300m) acquisition of Welsh vodka and RTD brand Au Vodka.
New Orleans and Kentucky-based spirits group Sazerac is continuing the rapid expansion of its portfolio, combined with a deeper drive into European markets.
Hard on the heels of completing its US$400 million purchase of Au Vodka, it is in talks to take over Berentzen-Gruppe AG, a German spirits producer.
Its portfolio includes Berentzen schnapps, Puschkin vodka and Tres Países Caribbean rum, alongside non-alcoholic lines and a range of fruit juices.
Sazerac has made no comment on the negotiations, but the German company has confirmed to Bloomberg that talks are taking place.
European expansion
Earlier this week, Sazerac brought Au Vodka, the Wales-based vodka and ready-to-drink brand, into its portfolio.
