Leading up to the holidays, listening to family becomes even more critical. Just ask Myron Frazier, executive vice president and chief merchant at Sam's Club. He has over 200,000 members to hear from.
The retailer's Member's Mark brand uses the huge group of critics to decide what products to put on the shelves, and for this upcoming holiday season, the brand will change Sam's Club's traditional meal package that can serve up to 15 people for less than $10 a person.
"So we have over 200,000 members inside of the community, and at any given moment, thousands of items are in our members' homes," Frazier told the Groceryshop 2026 crowd in Las Vegas on Wednesday. "They're doing over 200,000 activities per month, helping us understand how we should shape our floor."
So what about Thanksgiving? Frazier said the group wanted an extra dessert and alternate protein in case someone prefers ham over turkey, a smoked turkey instead of a raw one to save on cooking time, and a dish featuring cranberries with green beans.
"They were very specific," he said.
