Lowe's Companies Inc. is testing delivery by drone for select products in as fast as 20 minutes.
Lowe's is teaming with DoorDash and Wing, the on-demand drone delivery provider supported by Google parent company Alphabet, to offer delivery by drone as a same-day fulfillment option for both DIY and Pro customers from its store in Mathews, N.C.
This adds to same-day fulfillment options for customers placing online orders from the Mathews store, including buy online, pick up in store; curbside pickup and same-day delivery. Lowe's has provided same-day delivery via Instacart since 2022, with OneRail since 2023 and with Shipt and DoorDash since 2024.
The launch builds on Wing and DoorDash's existing drone delivery operations in the Charlotte area, adding Lowe's to the list of brands now available for delivery via drone. DoorDash initially launched drone delivery with Wing in Australia in 2022 and has expanded the program to multiple retailers markets in the U.S. since, including Charlotte in 2025.
