Bold flavors, functional fuel and permissible indulgence are the main factors influencing snacking in the United States, which represents $198.2 billion in annual retail sales, growing 3.1% versus the prior year, The Future of Snacking 2026 report from Chicago-based Conagra said.
The report used data from Conagra, Circana and NIQ, market research firms also based in Chicago, that spanned multiple channels including convenience, grocery, drug, mass market, club, dollar and military stores. The report also leveraged proprietary demand science methods, including an analysis of more than 53 million shopping transactions across 17,000 snacking products.
