United Petfood has expanded its US footprint with the acquisition of another production plant from Wellness Pet Company.
The dry pet-food site is located in Decatur in Arkansas, the Belgian company said. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
United Petfood said the deal represents another "important step" in its "long-term" growth strategy for North America.
CEO Dries Eeckhout added: "The Decatur site gives us additional capacity and flexibility to respond to our customers' needs. It is another important step in strengthening our production footprint across North America.
"By expanding our local presence, we can combine the advantages of local production with the expertise and capabilities of our international network of pet kitchens, enabling us to continue growing alongside our customers."
Alongside the transaction, the two companies entered into a "long-term" supply agreement.
Two years ago, United Petfood bought Wellness Pet Company's facility in Mishawaka in Indiana.
