CHICAGO — Mondelez International has promoted Zakaria Dahkoun to global chief procurement officer.
Dahkoun, formerly senior vice president of global sourcing, took over the post at the beginning of August from Thomas Gaengler, who recently left Mondelez to become chief operating officer of chocolate and cocoa supplier Barry Callebaut.
Chicago-based Mondelez said Dahkoun brings to his new role more than 21 years of "deep procurement expertise" across the company and, previously, at Kraft Foods, with his experience covering "end-to-end procurement across diverse categories and geographies."
He spent more than four years as senior vice president of global sourcing from June 2022 to July 2026 after working as senior vice president of global indirect sourcing for nearly a year and, before that, as vice president of procurement for Asia, the Middle East and Africa from April 2018 to October 2021.
