Amazon is making an additional investment in its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program, which provides support to employees who leave their jobs to build their own contract delivery businesses.
The company is investing another $1.9 billion in the program in 2027, which will help DSPs increase the pay of their workers to a national average of nearly $24 per hour. Amazon announced the investment at its recent 2026 Ignite Live DSP conference in Las Vegas,
Since its first rollout in 2018, Amazon says the DSP program has grown to include 4,500 small business owners. Including the upcoming financial commitment and a $1.9 billion investment Amazon made in the DSP program in September 2025, its total investment will reach $18.6 billion.

Specifics will vary by DSP and geography, with each DSP determining how best to use Amazon's investment in their business. All DSPs provide healthcare coverage and paid time off for their full-time employees, and Amazon says many also offer 401(k) plans, tuition reimbursement and other benefits.
