All Bar One faces boycott threats

The bar chain All Bar One has received severe backlash online after one of its venues reportedly hosted a private event for a far right anti-abortion group.

The incident, which has sparked a heated debate across Instagram, has seen many of its loyal clientele and target market express outrage on the multiple-operator's social media pages. This has culminated in many commenting on how they will no longer visit the venues, encouraging others to follow suit and stage a boycott.

The prominent UK high-street bar brand, owned by Mitchells & Butlers, is known for its nationwide city-centre locations, all-day dining, cocktails, and bottomless brunch events, however, the situation has coincided with All Bar One's recent relaunch for the brand, which has seen it showcasing newly-refurbished sites and enticing new customers in with complimentary drinks.

All Bar One owner Mitchells & Butlers recently saw its shares fall 4.7% to 262p following flat third-quarter sales. Like-for-like sales grew 2.2% over the first 42 weeks of its financial year. Total sales increased 1.3%.

M&B had also been speeding up its investment programme, completing 181 conversions and remodels so far in 2026.
