Independent London-based Park Brewery has closed its doors after 12 years because of rising costs and tough market conditions.
The brewery, based in Kingston upon Thames, released a message to customers to reveal that the reasons behind the decision were because "the last few years have been extraordinarily tough for small independent businesses, particularly in brewing and hospitality".
'Increasingly difficult'
The statement outlined that the business has "adapted again and again — cutting costs, finding new customers, developing new income streams and, in 2024, opening Park Brew & Kitchen. But ultimately the economics of running both businesses have become increasingly difficult, and we've reached the point where we don't believe continuing is the right thing to do".
Park Brewery co-owner Frankie Kearns recently told Teddington Town that "after 12 years we've made the very difficult decision that we can't continue running The Park Brewery and Park Brew & Kitchen ourselves".
